The First Round of the Handicap Cup produced some excellent comebacks. The tightest match was between Frimley D and Crawley Ridge C. With Barry Baxter and Ramesh Vasudevamurthy both winning their first two singles Frimley eased into a 5.5 to 1.5 lead after the second doubles. Crawley Ridge though grabbed the last four sets to win by the slenderest of margins. Yuriy Schulzhenko was the star performer for Crawley Ridge winning two singles and also both the doubles. Frimley A came back from 5-4 down to beat Cody B 7-5. Ce Guo and Tim Ngyou each won two singles for Frimley. For Cody Jock Docherty was unbeaten in singles. Tennis E beat Ash B 7.5 to 4.5 with Roger Whichelow winning all his singles for Tennis. Central cruised past Fleet A 8-4 Phil Snelson won all his three for Central with Paul Baker supporting with a couple of singles. Andrew Hook won a couple of singles for Fleet. The biggest win was chalked up by Tennis H against their G team, 9-3. Tushar Vaja was unbeaten for the H team whilst Dave Lewis won a couple in support. Alan Richards won twice for the G team. All the doubles went the way of the H squad.
There were a few league matches played. In the Second Division Ash D brought forward their match against Frimley C and won 8-2. Both Andy Clegg and Paul Creamer were unbeaten. Frimley C had, earlier in the week, played their postponed match against Tennis C which was won by Tennis emphatically, 9-1. Mirko Danso and Pu Zhang each secured maximums whilst Shaun Newbold chipped in with a duo.
In the Fourth Division Cody C whitewashed Cody D thanks to the efforts of Spike Hagan, John Asprey and Dave Hewitt.
