The top two teams in the First Division, Central B and Central A, both defending 100% records met this week with the A team coming out on top 6-4. Phil Snelson chalked up a full house for the A team with Paul Baker supporting with a pair. Andy Appleby won twice for the B team. Tennis A also beat their B team 6-4 with Michael Kwan unbeaten for the A team and Paul Shakespeare supporting with a pair. Eliot Tilley bagged a brace for the B squad. Ash A and Frimley A split the points with Dave Halfpenny winning all three for Ash and team-mate Nigel Care chipping in with a duo. Nigel Oh won twice for Frimley.
In the Fourth Division Crawley Ridge D maintained their 100% start to the season with a 7-3 victory over Frimley F. Eric Wong led the way with a maximum for Crawley Ridge with team-mate David Marchant winning a couple as did Frimley’s Charles Rhodes. Braybrooke B also boast a perfect record helped by a 9-1 victory over a reduced Ash G team. Both Roger Westall and Dave Connelly were unbeaten for Braybrooke. Tennis K eased past Cody D 6-4 to register their first victory of the season. Paul Jarvis was unbeaten for Tennis while Norrie Short and Vic King each won twice for Cody. Fleet C and Cody C shared the points with no player unbeaten. There were pairs from the Fleet duo of Alan Yeung and Roy Chittenden and also John Asprey and Spike Hagan from Cody.
Two 100% records tumbled in the Second Division. Tennis D beat Frimley C 6-4 with Peter Bone chalking up a full house for Tennis with colleague Arun Rajagopal supporting with a duo. Tennis C beat two-man Ash D 6-4 with Andy Clegg unbeaten for Ash. Ash C secured their first win of the season when they overcame Braybrooke A 7-3. Frank Winnard was unbeaten for Ash with Nigel Tustin supporting with a pair. Tony Gabriel won twice for Braybrooke. Cody A defeated Tennis E 8-2 with Paul Mission undefeated and the Daves Stenning and Thomas each winning a couple.
In the Third Division Tennis G lost their 100% record when they shared the points with Ash E. Les Knight was unbeaten for Ash with the Cody pair of Kim Phillips and John Sheehy each winning twice. Frimley D eased past Tennis H, 6-4, with Ramesh Vasudevamurthy securing another maximum. Barry Baxter supported with a duo which was matched by Tennis’ Dave Lewis. Tennis F is beginning to show their strength with an 8-2 victory over Frimley E. Andy Barnard won all three with team-mates Peter Butler and Graham McCulley bagging braces although both lost to Frimley’s Ted Cornell. Cody B proved too strong for Crawley Ridge C winning 7-3. David Thomas chalked up a maximum with colleagues John Harvey and Stuart Stone each winning twice. Yuriy Schulzhenko bagged a brace for Crawley Ridge.
