Cup week produced very few tight matches. In the Division One Cup Central A overcame Ash B 6-2 with Phil Snelson unbeaten and Paul Baker supporting with a duo. Ben Fereday won twice for Ash.
In the Division Two Cup Tennis E easily overcame Braybrooke A 7-2. George Carder was undefeated for Tennis with team-mates Pu Zhang, against his old club, and Andy Murdock each winning twice but both lost to Braybrooke’s Mark Armstrong
Tennis F, in the Division Three Cup, eased past Crawley Ridge A 7-2. Both Peter Killick and Graham Marshall secured maximums. Cody D proved too strong for Tennis G winning 7-2. Both Fan Lei and Bob Fenner were unbeaten for Cody.
The tightest match in the cup competitions was in the Division 4 Cup match between Tennis H and Fleet C which was won by Fleet 5-4. Andrew Hook won all three for Fleet with Alan Yeung supporting with a brace this was matched by Tennis’ Martin Evans.
Just one league match to report with Tennis F securing their first win of the season, in Division Three, against Cody D by a tight 6-4. The star performer of the evening was Cody’s Dean Hewitt who picked up a full house whilst both Peter Killick and Graham Marshall each won twice for Tennis.
