Table Tennis by Paul Myers Having passed the half-way point of the season in the Aldershot and District Table Tennis League there are clear patterns emerging with exciting promotion and relegation battles developing. After twelve games in Division One, Central A hold a three point advantage over club-rivals Central B. Central B though have two games in hand which will surely see them go top very soon. Phil Snelson and Norman Swift are both flying high in the averages with 95% for Central A but their Achilles heel is not having a regular strong third player . Graham Watts unbeaten so far this season and Dave Lloyd (90%) are the main contributors for Central B with Peter Millard (73%) a strong third player backing them up. The battle for third place is between Ash A, Ash B and Central C with four points separating them. Ross Saxby (86%) and Martin Townshend (80%) are Ash A's top scorers with Nick Mills topping Ash B's averages with 70%.Central C will be trying hard for third place to make it a clean sweep for the Farnham Central Club but they are relying heavily on Dave Phelps(75%) and Robin Pretty (80%) to achieve the feat. In mid-division are Shackleford with Dennis Perrett averaging 81% to keep his team safe, keeping them company are Challoner with Crispin Knight 69% and Maria Taylor-Woodward their top scorers. The relegation battle seems to be between Frimley A and Tennis A who are not putting out their strongest sides on a weekly basis with Bentley A and Ash C just ahead of them looking over their shoulders.  In Division Two Tennis B and Cody A are battling away with Tennis B holding a two point lead over their rivals who have a game in hand. The secret to both these teams success is the consistent scoring of all the squad. Tennis B have Dave Hewitt (78%), Stuart Middlemiss (71%) and Jack Davies (67%) all performing well whilst Cody A have John Harvey on 85% with Peter Anthony and Paul Mission both on 79%. Just behind the leaders in third are Ash D with Nigel Tustin their Number One on 79% and Frank Winnard chipping in with 73%. In the next four positions are Fleet CC A, Bourne A,Tennis C and Cody B who will all be safe from relegation and promotion which they will all be pleased about. Dave Jarvis is having a great season on 80% for Tennis C with Kin Chan topping Cody B's averages on 69%.Mike Gunton and Paul Creamer are both averaging over 50% which will keep Bourne A safe while Lawrence Dack,Rod Cutler and Dave Joyce are all on around 60% which seems sure to help maintain their fourth position. Ash F without a win and Tennis E, both look likely to be relegated this season unless they can up their games and put pressure on Tennis D who have played one more match and are just above them with a ten points cushion.    Tennis F remain clear favourites for the Division Three title with a nine points advantage over Kingfisher A. Ian Brown (87%), Ron Wale (77%) and Roger Mills are all averaging high for the Tennis Men with Roy Pike (76%) topping Kingfisher A's averages followed by Graham Marshall (62%) and Derek Read (55%). In third and with two games in hand of the top duo are Broadmoor with Pu Zhang (76%), Mark Armstrong (73%), John Brunton (67%) and Dick Deacon (62%) all playing well. If they keep up their percentages they will be fighting for promotion with Kingfisher A. In fourth and competing well are last seasons Division Four runaway winners Bourne B. Andy Barnard (69%), Peter Butler (67%) and Phil Larking (53%) must all be happy with the season so far.Frimley B, Tennis G and Kingfisher B all look safe in the middle of the pack with Geoff Green (82%) having another great season for Kingfisher B. Ash H look like going down at this stage with Ash G, Cody C and Frimley C looking likely to be dragged into a relegation battle to avoid the other position. Robeen Roopun (89%) for Frimley C, Bob Murrell (61%) for Ash G and Dave Thomas (67%) for Cody C are their teams main points scorers but they will need more help from their colleagues to achieve survival. In Division Four Cody D are the only team in the whole league not to have lost a match this season and they are just waiting to be crowned Champions. With John Asprey (96%), Phil Russell (91%), Andy Stenning (78%) and George Brown and Len Williams over 60% this is not surprising. The battle for second place and promotion is very interesting in this division. Ash K in second are one point ahead of Cody E who in turn are only three points ahead of Tennis H on level games. Ash K have Dave Phillips (97%) who has lost only one game all season with Ron Davies and Basil Warner averaging 50%. Cody E have the consistent Mick Strode and Norrie Short in the 60% bracket with John Warburton just below them. Tennis H though look to be the danger team to all above them with Paul Jarvis on 83% and John Page and Graham Dorey on 67% a piece. In the middle are both Fleet Cricket Clubs along with Bentley B and Frimley D. Mark Holbrook (82%) and Andy Blunden (67%) are playing well for Fleet CC B but lack a strong third player to make a challenge on the top teams. Kingfisher C who are second from bottom have Chris Saville on 67% and playing good table tennis but his team members are struggling, whilst propping up the league are Frimley E who to their credit have won a match this season and are battling really hard
