 Table Tennis by Paul Myers Cody D have extended their lead in Division Four with a 9-1 thrashing of bottom team Frimley E. John Asprey and Phil Russell both grabbed trebles with Frimley’s Stephen Bridle beating Len Williams (2) to avoid the whitewash. Frimley E also lost heavily to their club-mates Frimley D in which Trevor Vass and Ryan Seager were both unbeaten on the evening with Stephen Bridle once again thwarting the dreaded 10-0 score line by beating Paul Phelan (2) in a very close game. Tennis H are now in second place after beating Fleet CC C 7-3. John Page and Paul Jarvis were both in great form winning all three, with Kevin Bissell and Roy Chittenden grabbing single wins and a doubles victory for Fleet. Fleet CC B and Bentley B fought out a draw with man of the match Jacob Smith getting a brilliant treble. Smith beat Mark Holbrook (2) 11-9 in the fifth game and then defeated Andy Blunden (2) in their deciding fifth game 13-11 to grab the honours. Marge Massey and Pavol Bris both won one each on the evening. Ash K further down the table, remain unbeaten after two matches. They beat Kingfisher C 6-4 with Dave Phillips winning all three and Ron Davies two for Ash whilst Chris Saville (2) and John Saville (1) got a doubles win and the points for Kingfisher. In Division One it was a good week for the Farnham Central Club with all three of their teams in the winning mode. Central B have increased their lead at the top of the table with a 9-1 victory against Shackleford in which Paul Myers and David Lloyd were unbeaten. Central A remain in third place after beating Challoner 6-4. Phil Snelson was in treble form for Central with Maria Taylor -Woodward and Crispin Knight bagging braces for Challoner, this result leaves Central A five points behind Challoner with a game in hand. Central C beat Ash a 6-4 in which Robin Pretty won all three and Dave Phelps two, Ross Saxby (2) replied for Ash. Central C also beat Tennis A 8-2 with Pretty and Phelps both unbeaten which takes them into fourth position. Frimley A the new boys to the Division registered their first win of the season which moved them up the table after comprehensively beating Bentley A 7-3. John Millward and Nick Sadler were both in hat-trick form with Tim Nygou winning one. Lowly Ash C just lost out to fifth placed club-mates Ash B 6-4. Nick Mills was in treble form for Ash B with Tony Amies winning two for the C side. Cody A remain top of Division Two even after losing 7-3 to Tennis B in which Dave Jarvis won all three. Fleet CC A have stormed up the division into second place with two good wins against Ash D and Tennis D. Rod Cutler was unbeaten against Ash with Lawrence Dack in treble form against Tennis. Lowly Tennis E were tonked 9-1 by Bourne A with Mike Gunton and Duncan Weir winning all three. Peter Killick saved the Tennis boys blushes by beating Paul Creamer (2) to prevent the whitewash. Ash D beat Cody B 7-3 with Nigel Tustin winning the man of the match accolade with a hard fought hat-trick. Finally in Division Three the Leaders Tennis H beat Kingfisher B 8-2 for their fourth successive win. Ian Brown won all three with Roger Mills and John Wood bagging braces; in reply Ken Thompson won two for Kingfisher. Frimley B in second place were kept honest by club-mates Frimley C with a hard fought draw. Robeen Roopen was the star man for the C’s winning all three with Anthony Connelly and Barry Baxter bagging braces for the B’s. Broadmoor beat bottom team Cody C 7-3 with John Brunton in hat-trick form. Mark Armstrong (2), David Thomas (2), Pu Zhang (1) and Bruce McPherson (1) were the other point’s scorers.
