In Division 2 of the Aldershot Table Tennis League Fleet CC A swept to a 10-0 whitewash at the expense of Broadmoor B, David Joyce, Sameer Pathak and Lawrence Dack all running into end of season form together with a trio of triples. A 9-1 beating of two man Frimley C brightened up the week for Broadmoor B somewhat, Mark Armstrong and Norma Millward helped themselves to two wins. Bentley B won a closely contested tie at Tennis D 6-4, Neil Print and Colin Baggott for Tennis and Bentley’s Bob Walker and Andy Cunningham all won duos apiece.
Three from Ken Thompson, a Geoff Green brace and the two combining for a doubles win were enough for two man Crawley Ridge A to sneak past Tennis F 6-4 in Division 3, Broadmoor C had Pu Zhang to thank once more as his three helped his team draw five all at home to Tennis E for whom Peter Killick clung in there to win his two matches 13-11 in the fifth. Cody C crushed the resistence of Ash D 9-1, David Thomas and Jock Docherty both unbeaten, while a good three from David Mackinnon did the business for Frimley D who overcame Cody D 6-4. Fast improving George Carder won all his matches for Ash F who drew five all at Fleet CC B.
In Division 4 Frimley F recorded a 6-4 win in the face of a fine three from Crawley Ridge B’s Denys Smithers, Andy Fox, Steve Chapman and Alistair Sutherland showed solidarity in sharing Frimley’s six points. Dave Phillips racked up a hat trick for Ash K as they drew 5-5 with Cody E, a John Page treble was the difference between Tennis H and Frimley E as Tennis won 7-3 and Ray Mears bagged a trio which saw Ash J beat their G team 8-2.
