In Division 3 of the Aldershot & District Table Tennis League Tennis E inflicted a 10-0 whitewash on Frimley D, Peter Killick, Andy Murdock and Roger McCulley all applying the top coat on the victory, however Anthony Connelly was a touch unlucky not to pick up one for Frimley, going down 14-12 in the fifth to Murdock. A good three from Mark Francis saw Ash E overcome their F team 6-4, including a notable three straight win for the F team’s George Carder (2) over Dave Brown (2). Ash D’s Les Knight conquered all as his three downed Cody D 8-2. A really good three from Pu Zhang was just enough to see Broadmoor C gain a share of the spoils at Tennis F, 5-5 a fair reflection of a close encounter. Crawley Ridge A were 9-1 victors at home to Fleet CC B, Geoff Green and Ken Thompson each trebling up. Robeen Roopun scored a good win over evergreen Derek Seager (2) but that and a close doubles were the only points for Frimley C as they succumbed to their B team, Robert Brittain and John Wheeler both unbeaten on the night. It was Bob Brown’s prerogative to defeat all and that’s what he did as Tennis G saw off the challenge from Cody C 6-4.
Title challengers Broadmoor A routinely beat Tennis A 10-0 in the First Division, Mark Handcock, Clive Banham and Ian Cole untroubled. Dennis Perrett looks to be back to his best this season, another straight forward maximum meant his Central A beat Tennis B 7-3. Dynamic duo Robin Pretty and Dave Phelps both notched up triples as Central B coasted to an 8-2 win over Frimley A.
In Division 2 Kin Chan and Paul Mission both won hard fought duo’s to lead Cody A to a tough 6-4 victory at home to Tennis D for whom Eliot Tilley replied with two of his own. Cody B had Dario Cereda and John Harvey to thank as their two three’s defeated Tennis C 8-2. A strong Bentley B team cantered home 8-2 at Ash C, Robin Street first past the post with three.
An extremely tight Division 4 clash between Tennis H and Cody F was won for Tennis in the final match by Martin Evans, who clawed his way back from two down to edge Kim Phillips 11-6 in the fifth, finishing with a hat trick and earning his side the win, 6-4. A Ray Mears three did the business for Ash J, 7-3 winners at Fleet CC C.  Every player scored at least one point as Frimley E edged Cody E 6-4, Barry Jones and Paul Phelan for Frimley and John Warburton for Cody all won two. Worth a mention is Ash H’s five all draw with Ash K, a fine result for the young H team squad including maiden wins of the season for Hudson Foley (1), Ben Fereday (2) and Paul Foley (2), not to be outdone was Dave Phillips who beat them all for the K team. John Hutchinson plundered all three for Ash G but still saw his team beaten 6-4 by Frimley F, Alistair Sutherland, Steve Chapman and Andy Fox each won their other games for Frimley.
