A triple a piece for Dario Cereda and John Harvey helped Cody B to a 7-3 victory over Broadmoor B, who went down by the same score line to Fleet CC A in Division 2 of the Aldershot & District Table Tennis league. This time Sameer Pathak and Dave Joyce picked up three’s for Fleet to leave Broadmoor in the mire. David Hewitt eased to a hat trick for Tennis C who beat Frimley B 7-3, Dave Jarvis and Stuart Middlemiss backed Hewitt up with two each. It was another crushing win for Ash C, this time 10-0 over Tennis E, Mike Levey, Martin Gilbey and Alan Gess once again all unbeaten.
John Taylor won a good three for Tennis A against Tennis B in Division 1, as the A team eased home 7-3. Bentley A go marching on at the summit after a comfortable 8-2 win over Frimley A, Andy Mudie won all three for the league leaders but Rob Hawes produced the performance of the night in beating Steve French 11-8, 6-11, 12-10, 11-3.
Triple winning Les Knight’s 12-10 in the fifth win over Robeen Roopun (2) was the difference between the sides as Knight’s Ash E beat Frimley D 6-4 in Division 3. Paul Phelan only lost one end all night as his three wins sent Frimley E home 6-4 winners over Tennis G. Maximums from Nick Green and Ken Thompson were enough to see off Cody C as Farnham Cohesion A waltzed to a 9-1 triumph.
In Division 4 Cody E ran out 8-2 winners over Ash K, John Warburton’s three setting the pace. Hat tricks from Andrew Blunden and Jeremy Fox were just enough for Fleet CC B as they beat their C team 6-4. George Carder played up for the G team and was the star of the show, winning three against Tennis J, but alas it wasn’t enough as two’s from John Page and Mike Bly saw Tennis home 6-4. A trio from Dave Phillips of Ash H and two from Cody F’s Vic King, including a titanic 6-11, 11-13, 11-9, 11-4, 14-12 win over Roger Fletcher, were the top performances on the night but neither could prevent a five all stalemate. Michael Fox won the lot for Frimley F but duo’s all round for George Carder, Brian Lunn and Josh Taylor meant Ash J cantered to a 7-3 victory.
